I am like the idiot savant of cooking
I love cookbooks. I love cooking shows. I love cooking magazines. I love cooking stores. But of course, the actual act of cooking? Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the process of cooking - I like to cook. But the thing is, I am not very good at it. Actually, I am pretty close to a terrible cook, with the exception of a few dishes I really nail. Hence the idiot savant of cooking.
Oh believe me, I give it a valiant effort and attempt everything and anything now and again, but the results are never that fantastical.
But today? Today, dear readers, I kind of made the most amazing dinner from a recipe I had never attempted before. Faith’s warm ham and toast is a fancy grilled cheese with proscitto that is then topped with a poached egg and covered in a jalapeño cream sauce topped with an aged white cheddar. Some might recognize it from Town Hall. I recognize it from dinning table about 10 minutes ago because I made it and it was AMAZING.
So if you come over to my house for dinner in the next couple of weeks, expect to eat this. Sometimes I like to show off.
